Damn… I love Gravity Falls, but I love ponies. I’d bring him back, though, Alex Hirsch and the other people working on Gravity Falls can handle themselves, I think.

She DID leave the outlines with them I’d imagine. So she can’t spill too much if they plan to use something at a later date. (which is why the only answers ponychan could pry from her were stock answers on previously answered questions.)

yep that one gladly spirtied away isn’t the most memorable miyazaki films he’s done but it does have a couple of memorable scene’s i still remember the pig scene and the witch one.

I’m not a major anime fan, but I love Miyazaki movies.

Seems like a lot of conspiracy theory allegations and rather questionable dismissal of meghan’s actual opinions to me.
 
You hate the alicorn twilight, therefore, anyone who doesn’t hate it is wrong and bad. And anyone who does who might not be bad, but still disagree with you, is simply lying to everyone. It reeks of rationalization of hate to me, and I don’t happen to agree with that sort of thing.
 
And as for the final season not matching what the founding mother and father wanted, do you know they don’t like the direction? Do you know if they hate what’s been done to the show? Do you even know how they actually feel about the whole thing? Do you even know how much it is or isn’t different? These simple questions require answers in order to get a fair look on what’s been done. And until lauren faust actually does say what she had planned, I’m not sure anyones qualified to say what her thoughts on friendship is magic really is, not me and not fans who are looking to use her words to destroy the credibility of her friends and former co-workers.

I’m a lazy fuckwit, so I’ll just say that Ebalosus and Beau Skunky said everything I wanted to and they’ve said it better than I could.

In the real world, “rich and ashamed” beats “principled and poor” most of the time.

I’d imagine that even McCarthy herself didn’t think the alicorn Twilight was a good idea. She had to come out with something was not too negative to say to break the truth about something that was FORCED onto them. I can’t really imagine what it was like for to say “every girl wants to be a princess”. But really, do people obviously think she was able to express her real opinion on that topic, without offending their superiors or target audience for that matter?

Yeah, we managed love this show even though the final product did not completely match the show’s founding mothers and fathers(the original show staff team).

I do not believe this pictures assertion that the narrative discipline of the show has gone anywhere. I also do not believe that a singular person is responsible for a shows success or failure. I additionally do not believe that gravity falls quality has increased that much, since the show has been a pretty good show even before rob renzetti came aboard.
 
So I don’t really think I can participate in this thought exercise since I see too much outside and under the table motivation in this experiment.

Not so much of an adventure “arc” but an adventure story. Short of the 2 ep opener, I’d classify all the rest as slices of life (even Spike at your Service, as the Timberwolves only served to glue the plot together, and weren’t core to it).
 
And it’s not necessarily we need an arc, though it does help to create a coherent world with one in mind.

Honestly, if the show was as “toy-etic” as people claim, why haven’t we seen other stuff like Applejack’s truck shoe-horned into the show to?  
…Actually, I’d love to see Applejack’s truck personally. :P

It was more to do with there over domineering marketing superiors.

Somehow I don’t think picking on the current show’s staff, (whom I still think is doing a decent job personally) or pointing fingers, or acting like only certain people (like Faust or Renzetti) are the only thing that make the show “good,” is going to somehow improve the quality of the show.
 
I really don’t get all the disdain for McCarthy lately. She did write the episodes Dragonshy, Call of the Cutie, Green Isn’t Your Color, Party of One, Lesson Zero, Sweet and Elite, Hearts and Hooves Day, A Canterlot Wedding parts 1 & 2, and those were pretty well-liked episodes.  
(Also, ironic CR said most of her episodes seem like just “toy commercials,” how were most of those episodes aside from the wedding & Crystal Empire arc promoting toys? People forget the show is actually a toy commercial, just a really enjoyable one.)

Season 3 didn’t really have that much adventure in partly due to the fact that it is a 13 episode season. Try making a good story arc with only half the resources you’ve got previously.
 
I think this show does have a story arc that builds up to the finale of each season, but much of the stuff they do is offscreen and only mentioned a few times, while you focus on the MAIN subject of the episode. Take Twilight’s magic training throughout season 3 for example. In Too Many Pinkie Pies, Twilight was obviously trying to improve her magic. In The Wonderbolt Academy, Applejack mentioned about checking out Twilight’s new magic that she was allegedly working on(curious to know what it was).
 
There is no problem with continuity. It’s just that they tend to keep these “things” in the background.
 
I still have hope that they can “get it right” in season 4.

I agree that with that between the Elements and an Overpowered Twilight, and a reformed Discord, that they’ve basically got any deus ex machine to resolve any “adventure” type stories - the really only ways for these to work is to nerf or put Twilight off to the sides now.
 
However, they can still world-build on Slice of Life stories. Take “Its About Time” which really isn’t an adventure though with Cerberus/Tartarus, heads there. Or “Games Pony Play” which builds up a bit more about life at the Crystal Empire.
 
It’s not the same vision that Faust had or Renzetti helped grow, but it’s not like they’re dropping any of that either. S3 I consider as growing pains so it’s better to see how they bring out S4 and lessons learned to improve on that.
