Well, that’s odd. Rarity and Pinkie are among my favorites.  
Yeah, Rarity didn’t have any episodes, or really any major scenes or plot relevance, but she was still enjoyable.
 
Pinkie…was more hit and miss in season 3 then either of the previous seasons. Well, again, She didn’t have much of an importance plot wise, and those are the times she feels tacked on. (I’ve read quite a few stories with the same problem.)
 
Which, even though I understand, is odd. Pinkie is my favorite character to write for.

Imagine coming into the series on S3, only having seen maybe a half-dozen assorted episodes of S1/S2
 
Think of every scene Pinkie’s been in in the season.
 
She had Too Many Pinkie Pies (Which was great, because they were acknowledging how obnoxious she can get) and every other appearance after that, she was irritating as fuck, with GPP’s HEY LOOK IM MAKING STUPID FACES ITS A DISTRACTION bit being the Navi-with-cheesegrater-taped-on of grating on my nerves.
 
She’s tied with Rarity (Who due to the S3 lack thereof I have seen zero episodes starring) as my least favorite of the mane six, and Rarity has the excuse that she hasn’t had enough time for me to get to like her.
 
Even with all that said, I don’t HATE her or anything. I am mostly just indifferent towards her overall.

Well that’s Pinkie Pie for you. Since she’s a hyperactive, random mare It’s kind of hard for some people to write her. Sometimes they get her down pat (Party of One){fine example} Other times not.  
{Mysterious Mare Do Well} Pinkie’s lines in the episode seemed more tacked on, then natural. Like they thought giving her random lines would make her funny, which they weren’t. (Except for ‘silly’ comment she made about twilight.}
 
{Games Ponies Play} Among my least favorite episodes. I didn’t hate it, it was just so…meh. Nothing did it for me. {Except Ms. Peachbottom. She was generally fun and I kind of hope she comes back. She most likely won’t, but still.}  
Pinkie was a great example of this. She was just…meh. None of her humor worked and she seemed kind of…stupid in a way.
 
I’m guessing all show with hyperactive characters such as Pinkie sometimes suffer this. (I’ve seen it a few times, but I forget what shows.)

Both those hooves should have been censored.

A few of Pinkie’s antics during the movie grated on me, but she did have a few laugh-out-loud gags, including this one.
