Not coincidentally, a lot of the most popular romances in D&D campaigns involve dragon-shifters. There was a pretty hilarious one I remember reading about where the entire party wound-up marrying a Metallic Gold drake.
Also, Classy Spike is Classy. And Rarity’s legs are almost freakishly tall. Then again, that’s based on how I draw humans, so eh.
And lest we forget, the CMC are apparently freshman in highschool now…
“Is that even possible for a Dragon to turn Human?”
Yeah I saw it…HERE:

If i remember right that one was also Pia’s art
In any case, anyone who plays the age card about this pairing is petty because its moot. There’s no in-show declaration about Spike’s age. True, he looks small and is called a baby but has he ever been treated as a baby by any character ever?
He’s a dragon. They live longer than ponies as suggested in “Dragonshy” so where do you draw the line between a baby dragon and a mature dragon? Spike could be like 30 years old and still be a baby.
Dragons have magical growth related to greed as shown in “SomE.” We don’t know how dragons develop when they’re not raised by ponies. All we know is they don’t grow like ponies.
Speaking of ponies, we don’t know how old they are either. We’re comparing their ages to human references but they’re not human. If you think they’re adults cuz they got jobs and live on their own, think about Ash who’s only 10 years old but travels the world hunting down Pokemon.
Definitely held back by his current life, as his connection with Rarity is what made him regress, but pretty much everything else is unclear. Zecora didn’t know how to regress him, but his aging like that was common enough that she recognized it.
My own theory is that Spike had actually been suppressing his aging for some time prior to that episode, so he grew unusually quickly to make up for lost time.
sigh I can believe that I miss the flipping their shit. I tend to avoid anything Fluttermac related so I miss that. Any good stories about it? Any fanfic that make Cheerilee a complete bitch? Or it never reached Avatar levels?
Personally, I always thought Macindash was more likely.
also, when quoting someone use
>”How did Fluttermac become a thing?”
I don’t know!! People just assumed that because both characters are shy that they must therefore be OMG Perfect! for each other, I guess.
Realistically, it wouldn’t work out at all because neither of them would have the guts to make the first move.
Can ya tell I got more than a little ticked off back when the art feeds were absolutely clogged with Fluttermac pics? And do you remember how the rabid Fluttermac shippers went apeshit over “Hearts & Hooves Day”? It put me off any kind of shipping with poor ol’ Big Macintosh.
Detailed continuity? In my Friendship is Magic? Yeah right.
That’s probably what makes this so hard. The show’s target audience IS little girls, so the show’s staff could make plenty of conitnuity error that only bronies would catchs
Yeah…unless, you know…the writers decide to invent another “grow spurth” based on generosity and Spike gets a new form.
But until that, we can only speculate based on the info that we have
Fanon now seems to hold the opinion that afing can happen naturally or through hoarding. The former is much slower, though
I think it’s that a Dragon has a maximum size for it’s age, barring magical mishaps.
>”There’s always the headcanons thread”
Oh believe me I know. My only regret is that I didn’t see the thread until a week ago.
@Background Pony
Spike isn’t an adult, but neither is he the equivalent of an grade-schooler. He is treated with far more regard than the CMC’s (except by Twilight).
And we don’t really know how dragons age in this universe (“Secret of My Excess” aside). We know they live for centuries, but does that mean all aging is slower than with ponies? Or can dragons mature faster than ponies but then slow down or stop aging?
It’s just that every fic where she’s a lesbian, she’s wildly out of character, and the ones where she’s straight (barring the truly terrible examples) her OOC moments are in the minority.
Also, how did Fluttermac become a thing? The first time they were even in the same shot together was in season 3!
Things get really tricky with Spike, especially after “Secret of my Excess”. At first, you would just go with he’s a baby dragon, so he’s like an elementary kid that’s a little older than CMC and be done. Now, I can’t really tell his exact age. Now, I can’t tell how dragon aging works. Do the age strictly based on their hording? Did it just speed up his physical aging? Or is he being held back by his current life, and what he did helped him catch back up? I never seemed to get a clear answer out of it.
Yeah, maybe my view is skewed since I saw so much of it early on.
Fuck, nevermind
You’re stupid. Stop being stupid.
>promiscuous
yuck
But really, it made no sense. Hell, all lesbian RD fics rely entirely on her being in love with them because they’re both lesbians. Also, in most of those, they make her seem promiscuous, which goes against the Element of loyalty.
