Yeah, I don’t think those “redesigns” count as entirely new systems. Otherwise the DS Lite, Gameboy Advance Micro, 2DS, & such would count to.
Surprised the Gameboy Light was never released outside of Japan.

I liked the Super Gameboy to actually, it was fun playing GB games on the TV via the SNES. (The customizable options, and “easter eggs” the SuperGB had were fun to.)
Also, most Gameboy games after 1994 had Super Gameboy “enhancements” (like multiple color palettes, and a custom SuperGB boarder for the game) long after the SuperGB accessory was no longer sold for the SuperNES oddly. (Even a few “backwards compatible” GBColor games did.)

I always liked the custom/exclusive-boarders GB games came with. (That they managed to cram in the game packs with the game data.) The artwork was nice in them, and not many gamers talk about them, or appreciate them sadly.
Some like “Wario Land 2” & Game & Watch Gallery 2 had multiple SuperGB boarders. (Depending on what level, or G&W game you were playing.)

It existed alongside the Gameboy Pocket and the Gameboy Light(A Japan exclusive gameboy with a built-in light like the one on GBA SP) But they were all basically original Gameboy in different variations, right? Early Gameboy Color games were dual compatible with the original Gameboy and the Super Gameboy on the SNES.

You have no idea how much fun I’ve had with my Super Gameboy back when I was a kid. I miss it so much. The Super Gameboy was released some years before the GBC. The concept of playing a Gameboy Game with color on a big screen was really something to brag to your friends about. The colours are also adjustable, and some games have their custom screen margins along with 10 default from the SGB. Good times…

Hey, the original Gameboy was awesome. :P
It’s also one of those most sucessful, and longest-lasting video game systems. (Lasting around 10 years before the Gameboy Color “replaced” it.) Not bad considering some people rag on the system’s lack of color, and such. (Though, quite a few Gameboy games had good graphics regardless.)

Yeah, it almost does. “Balloon Kid” is a very underrated GB game.

Yeah, it was a great game. Funny thing is I accidently found the optional ice world area on my first playthrough of Wario Land: SML3. I have it on my 3DS now. (Via Virtual Console.)
