I don’t know, I’ve seen more then that, especially on that “don’t change Derpy’s name” petition.
I actually was never really bothered by either name, but I kinda prefered “Ditzy-Doo,” sense it seemed like a nice call-back to the “Winter Wrap-Up” episode, and it sounds kinda cute.
There were just about as many people being angry about Ditzy Doo as for Derpy, but then again, that’s no challenge considering those were like 10 people.
During Derpygate, rumors went around they were going to change her name to “Ditzy-Doo,” so some started freaking out, and also some started making polls not to change her name to that, and such.
Plus, even to this day, surprisingly quite a few bronies get mad if you call her “Ditzy,” instead of “Derpy.”
It lost it’s meaning the moment /mlp/ used it to describe “call backs to jokes bronies made memes out of” or “inconsequential fandom nods” because they think they’re so much better than the rest of the fandom.

Eh, if they can’t call her “Derpy,” I say just call her “Ditzy,” or “Bob,” I don’t care. It just looks odd in the merch’ how they go out of their way to not refer to her by any of her name/s.
Of course, the fandom is also to blame for her being nameless, as there was some backlash over the name “Ditzy-Doo,” as well. So they’re afraid to give her any name, because no matter what she’s called some will freak out.
doesn’t matter. Once they received the first letters from the people on tumblr her faith was sealed. There was no way they were going to use Derpy from there on. The fandom was screwed over no matter what they did.

Blame “Derpygate,” thanks to BOTH arguing sides of that fiasco, they’re afraid to call her “Derpy,” and they’re also afraid to call her “Ditzy.”
