I meant to say in my original reply that after the episodes go to Layout, I believe they only have a week to animate each episode. I suspect that it’s a very long week, too. I don’t know if animators get weekends off, and I suspect it’s definitely not a 9-5 job. They put in a lot of long hours each week.
Considering how very tight their deadlines are, I think DHX does a spectacular job with what they have.
Ah, I see.
If DHX had the time and money, I’m sure they could make the animation on the show even smoother. Sadly, they do not have either.
Also, Children of the Night is a song, not an episode.
They also never suggested it was going to be anything other than a song.

WHY DIDN’T THE MLP MOVIE NOT FOLLOW THIS STORYLINE?!!
It’s more smoothly animated and has a stronger emotional narrative, so IMO yes.

They spent waaaaaay more time on the animation than Team DHX and REDID it after the Brony Documentary with improved technique, of course it would be smoother.
