Twilicorn still terrible, and yet people won’t stop bitching about these posts. God I can’t wait til season 4

I should also add, judging by how Chrysalis was struggling for a moment, and Celestia wasn’t even breaking a sweat, if it weren’t for her power-boost from Shining Armor’s love for Cadance, Celestia would’ve easily defeated her right there.

Yeah, and from what I saw in the E.G. movie she’s still the same old awkward, adorkable Twilight we all know. So aside from getting wings, there’s really no difference so far between the “old” and “new” Twilight Sparkle aside from wings.

We haven’t even seen what the “New Twilight” is like outside of a single spinoff movie that had nothing to do with her being a princess, so I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I miss the old Twilight. The new one is boring.

If they’d done that, we would have gotten fewer episodes that focused on the other characters, and people would be whining about that instead.

They could have had a few episodes that pointed in the general direction, at least. All we got was that little Starswirl book sighting at the end of the Crystal Empire episodes. Contrast that with Best Night Ever, which had at least two episodes in S1 devoted to specifically leading up to that finish line. Blame it on deadlines and a short season or whatever, but it could have been miles better however you look at it.

Yeah. “Destined to do great things” I will buy, since we were there to see them. Acension wasn’t something even thought to be possible in canon till now. The speculation was always there, but now it’s officially a thing that happens.

MMC was rushed because they only had a single episode for it. 13 episodes isn’t a lot of room to work with for a season, so they had to compress what should have been a two-parter into a single episode by making it mostly songs.

It would seem you need clarification. Basically, just because Twilight appeared to have some grand destiny from early on to some, that is a long way off from actually building up to your so-called “ascension” in a very specific and attentive way. Season 3, at the time that Twilight’s ridiculous coronation occurred, had spent a couple of episodes yammering on about some Equestria Games, which apparently will be further continued in Season 4. MMC is like an entry shoved in out of order. It’s jarring and makes very little sense, outside of the logic of “We need a winged Twilight toy ad NOW!”

Every single Twilight-centric episode since the series permier has highlighted how Twilight was the chosen one, and S3 premier made that so blatant you’d have to willfully be blind to it to not see it.
 
Twilicorn is a toy thing, sure, but so is the entire series, and Twilight “ascending” in some way or another has been yelled at us from day one.

The difference is, the show is the overall concept. Within that concept, there’s a great deal of freedom and room for the writers and other team members to make something great. MMC was too direct in the toy sales-driven sense, because we see that rather than allowing the story to end up with Twilight’s promotion organically, we get this episode that seems shoved in out of nowhere.

Look, in complete and open honesty….It was a ploy for money. Anyone who thinks that it was done to develop a character or enhance the show is mistaken. It was a toy company trying to sell toys.

hehe just a (not improbable) exageration, i mean, season1 AJ let ponyville get ravaged by bunies! and also got the whole town sick that monster!  
we could also thorize that sooner or later she would had fuck up something, or someone because of her sturboness or lack of friends/extra helping hands.
 
i guess flutershy did had friends… she was at the party in the 1st chaper. and she knew RD since her childhood…
