Yknow I’d believe this if caramel and whoever that chick is weren’t in the same episode and if they weren’t shown on screen with eachother which does happen
True
In the future, it may be possible.
Not biological children

Don’t you mean “great grandchildren?” Besides, who’s to say that same-sex couples can’t have children?

Caramel: whispers in big mac’s ear
Big Mac: do you really think your whisperin’ in my ear is helpin’?
“Well, it’s not gay if it’s with Rainbow Dash!”

@BiggerMac
It’s because of Brokeback Mountain. Ever since that movie, there’s been a gay cowboy stereotype in peoples’ minds. It’s why people also keep making Braeburn gay.
Shipping goggles, off. NOW.
Also explain the fact your dating twilight
background ponies never talk and they get same sex ships
Welcome to the Brony fandom.
Gotta admit, never thought of the whole color-gender connection. I guess here where I live people have been keen on avoiding gender-normative stuff for long enough that it’s long since thrown out the window.
Rainbow is a blue character in a children’s show. Blue, in this kind of show, often means male.
While any length of observation would clear up the confusion, it’s a forgivable mistake if one has only watched a single episode.
But I still think it’s weird to mistake RD for male, at least if you’ve seen the rest of the episode and know the context.
-Chariot stallions
-rounded shape without any sharp angles that typically indicate masculinity regardless of art style
-meta-knowledge “show for girls” > “show about girls” (token male notwithstanding)
-friendship exercise > extremely likely friends are going to be girls… though this requires more meta-knowledge so you can immediately tell RD is gonna be one of those friends due to her presentation
-eyelashes
Then again, perhaps my perception has been honed by having to deal with anime traps?
