Actually, though I haven’t seen this episode (but I’ve read a summary about it and I know the characters), the Sea Ponies were actually suffering due to the drought in this episode so I don’t think the sea shell would have worked; there was a drought. About the unicorn thingy, that’s a bit questionable; but considering Megan’s trying to haggle with this troll while he’s controlling the bridge they are on, I’m willing to bet he would not have let the unicorns escape so easily, especially considering the description. Also it could be kinda hard to use teleporting powers while trying to hold onto a bridge for dear life; as there could be the possibility of one’s grip slacking.
 
I kinda understand the thing with the pegasi, but I agree with Amethyst on the idea that it would be hard for Wind Whistler, Heart Throb (is Magic Star a pegasus?) to get airborne when hanging from a narrow cliff (and it does look pretty narrow).

And all G1 unicorns could teleport. And if G1 earth ponies are as strong as G4 ones, well, that fall wouldn’t be much trouble. And if they’re not, Megan’s got that seapony summoning sea shell. Yeah, whoever wrote this episode didn’t think things through.

Though some have said they couldn’t get airborne, I’m sure if the pegasus ponies dropped themselves they could fly.

Heart Throb, the pale pink pony, is a pegasus too.  
It’d probably be difficult for either of them to get airborne from a hanging-over-a-narrow-canyon position.

Well, it was a show that was targeted for little girls. (Which surprisingly had some dark themes and awesome villains.) So feminine colors is understandable. As well as to why we don’t see the boy ponies often.

Well not lazy. More like biased towards ‘feminine’ colors, I figured.

Well, that’s not something to really dislike. Maybe the reason that’s so is because of genetics. The ponies of Dream Valley are more normally white and pink. I mean, if you travel to country to country, you’ll notice differences between people.
 
An isolated population will always start to differ into it’s own marked traits.

One of the few things I disliked about the G1 Dream Valley ponies, was that so many of them had pink or white body fur, so less variety. The eye and mane colors helped distinguish between them, at least.  
It’s rare to see a shot with this many ponies and only two of them are pink or white.

Maybe, but it would be a good idea to set up the titles of the G1 shows and specials and movies’ tags to automatically ‘imply’ G1. If that can be done.  
Maybe do the same with the multiple G3 specials’ titles too?

Even though Heart Throb and Wind Whistler are pegasi, I imagine it’d be hard to get into proper flying position when hanging above a narrow canyon.
