Meh, I just like the designs; couldn’t care less about the “Dark Is Not Evil” cause or any other baggage that some in the fandom attach to them. I especially like them when they’re portrayed as cute, as in Heroine Addict’s examples or in Egophiliac’s works.

But yeah, this image is a decent pic marred by some stupid text.

Not a Llama - Happy April Fools Day!

I must admit, Bat Ponies really get on my nerves, I think it must be the obnoxious fetishisation of nocturnal things and “Dark Is Not Evil” stuff that’s so common on the web and even in this fandom (see how people generally treat that dumb bitch Luna).
The fedora hate also really pisses me off… I generally see hating someone for wearing a certain kind of hat used a hypothetical example of really dumb judgmental hatred in parodies… Then there you go with people who are supposed to be the open-minded ones doing it for real! ¬_¬

I have to agree with this. Bat ponies are even more dark and edgy than Luna, and Luna is already annoying enough.

It’s because lots of people seem to be wearing them who don’t suit them at all but think it’s the coolest thing in the world. Some people do suit them who wear them but on the internet, no.

I still find the association between fedoras and douchebags to be absurd. What hat you wear has practically no bearing on whether you’re a nice person or not. For any common style of dress I guarantee you I could find both monsters and saints wearing it. Hell, there’s probably even a Buddhist monk somewhere out there with a Hitler moustache.

I’m not sure where that association started, but it certainly seems to be very popular among tumblr feminists and judgemental morons on 4chan.
