I still dislike the character concepts for Cadence and Shining intensely. I feel that they were poorly conceived, that they didnt fit in with what we knew and they were. Cadence certainly didnt need to be an Alicorn or Twis family friend, that was idiotic, and Shining didnt need to be Twi’s brother especially since her entire character concept literally revolves around supposed social isolation we now know she didnt have.
 
However eventually i felt they made it up just enough to pass, Shining slightly more than Cadence, and were interesting enough to justify themselves to me and i ended up enjoying them for as long as i push out their kinda stupid origins. Now i enjoy works with them in.
 
I like Snips, Snails, Gilda, Trixie, Twist, Diamond Tiara, even Sombra isnt so bad.
 
But Flash Sentry is a romantic interest brought in for no other reason than to have a romantic interest (a curse of movies within themselves), and does nothing to justify his existence to me. He is boring. Uninteresting. He doesnt even throw a waifu and he certainly doesnt do anything another better character couldnt have. Hell. im no TwiMac shipper - but they could have used him instead and given a much underused character some more lines.
 
Hes just not very good.
 
Of course, im one of those people who dislikes Equestria Girls anyway (50% ultra-uncanny valley artstyle, 50% dislike of humans in anyway related to equestria) so take that as it is.

If you’ve singled out Flash for being the only character in FIM who has seemingly been “shoe-horned in” for a singular purpose, as a barely-noticeable love interest or otherwise, you are not being logical. MOST of the secondary characters in the show are extremely two-dimensional, and yet you don’t have any problem with them. I mean just look at Cadence and Shining Armor; they were created solely so that we could have a “Royal Wedding.”
 
You just don’t like Flash because Twilight blushed around him once or twice. Seriously, that’s not logic, it’s just prejudice. Dislike him if you want, but don’t pretend there’s some distinctly elevated reasoning behind it.
 
If Twilight suddenly found herself thinking about him all the time and fantasizing about their wedding in the movie, THEN I’d concede there was something weird going on.
 
So yeah. There is nothing “gross” about it at all. And I honestly don’t care if you want to pick on the artist’s little errors, like his size or three-leggedness.

I bet you, this image would get a lot more downvotes if the artist gave Twilight a bulging abdomen.

He knows what the deal is.

Well sorry for disliking flash sentry. Forgive me for having one singular character out of literally every single other pony (even Twist) that i dont like for reasons that strike me absolutely logical (HasbrOC/shoe-horned in romantic interest for no reason).
 
Seriously though, Flash Sentry is normal pony size, aint he?

Well, as mentioned in other comments, they’re both missing one back leg, and their relative sizes are somewhat off; still, despite those flaws, it’s nicely done. And I’m saying this as someone who really dislikes this shipping.

A) Gross.
 
B) Why is he the approximate size of Big Macintosh?

It’s pics like these that make me realize their color schemes complement each other nicely. Yellow and purple are pretty striking.
