Colin Baker was awesome, and I hear nothing but good things about those audio dramas. Just gotta stop being lazy and actually seek them out!
well, if you’re interested, try checking out some of the Big Finish audio dramas featuring Colin Baker.
He ends up fleshing his character out via that medium… but yes, it is a shame it couldn’t be televised.

True story: it was seeing all the MLP / Doctor Who crossover material that finally pushed me over the edge and led me to spend a year and a half going through the entire classic series on Netflix DVD.
And Colin was great. It’s a shame they cut his tenure short - I would have liked to see his character fleshed out more (as did he).
