That’s pretty close to what every 4chan user assumes every other 4chan user is until proven otherwise.
It’s part of the broad contempt for their fellows that most Anons exhibit; that merely adopting a name on 4chan is seen as pretentious unless you’re actually providing something valuable.
For this scripting caper though, they could care less who or what you are or what issues you may have, only that you’re willing to help them prank a website for laughs.
There’s probably a bit of jealousy/projection sometimes, yeah. But other times they can be fine.
So basically insecure assholes that probably get treated like shit irl and are too stupid or cowardly to aim their anger at the people actually causing them problems, instead opting to aim it at easy targets?
In their mind, wearing a pony shirt or going to a pony convention is less socially acceptable than anonymously posting MLP R34 on an anonymous imageboard. It’s mainly because it’s anonymous.
And the names that they like to be called is a defense mechanism. If they call themselves literally the worst thing someone could call them, they’ve robbed their critics of power.
That’s something I really don’t understand (well, I do understand, it’s narcissism) is the whole “bronies are autists” thing coming from /mlp/ which insists that they are not bronies, they are just “normlpeople” that like(d) the show while bronies are “autistic neck bearded manchildren”.
Okay, so if you were a person totally outside of anything mlpfim related, just some “average” dudebro, who do you think you would consider more “autistic”, manchildish, and all around unpleasant; the weirdos that like a show for little girls about ponies and call themselves bronies, or the weirdos that like a show for little girls about ponies that run around spamming the shit out of other websites, calling everyone a fag, posting nonstop memes about wanting to “cum in rainbow dash”, talk about wanting to fuck one of the underage voice actors, and generally just being over-the-top obnoxious shithooks that like to be called “horsefuckers” or “ponyfags”?
Well in their defense, that poll system itself is a joke.
They were the ones that started scripting, and I’m pretty sure a large part of it is “do this and people will hate the fandom more because we like to see the autists get mocked” or something. I doubt they really care. They just want to have fun.
