Guys, chillax. You’ve got standalone episodes and you’ve got metaplot episodes. Not every episode needs to tie into the metaplot.

Next episode is the long awaited Scootacripple episode, so unless one of the keys was actually surgically implanted into Scootaloo, weighing her down and preventing her from flying, I don’t think this plot is going anywhere.

episode 3 promised us some relation with the chest and we didn’t get any clue.  
And Episode 4 was in a freaking temple, with Daring Do, and there wasn’t even a single reverence to the chest or the keys. That’s some wasted potential. Because there could have been something. Like some picture on the temple wall with some hieroglyphs, or something.

I’ll believe her lies this time.

Dude, are you crazy? You can’t joke about autism here, even if you’re not trying to insult people or if you have it yourself. It gets people banned faster than anything.

I’ve always wondered if the fans whose love for the mane cast is rather extreme are simply joking or if that really is one of the effects of a lower form of Autism than mine… Or some other head affliction… :|

You can only do so much for 26 episodes.

To be perfectly honest… I kind of want to see the mane six get curbstomped by some new villain, to add a sense of danger and tension to collecting the keys.
 
But of course, if they did that, fans would instantly call the new villain a Villain Sue.

The whole bit in the preview clip about “changing the destiny of Ponyville forever” should actually instead say “changing the destiny of Twilight forever, again”. Because we all know that’s what it’s probably going to be… Twilight going further and further up in greatness and power while the other five are relegated to essentially be her court and defenders.
 
And no, I don’t agree with the idea that the show was supposed to give all the mane six equal amounts of plot and importance from the beginning. It’s always been about Twilight from the start and will continue to be, but I hope that the box benefits them all and not just Twilight. Because if the season ends with a new harmony tree / palace appearing in Ponyville, Twilight fully coming into alicorn maturity to look more like Luna and Cadance, and the other five and the rest of Ponyville bowing to her… meh.

It just means (not counting the finale) 5 or 6 episodes spread across 24 or 23 episodes.
 
And I’m pretty sure that they’ll get the keys in episodes that may not seem connected or something. Like they’ll discover some truth about themselves and bam! Key.
 
The 8th episode “Rarity Takes Manehatten” may end with her getting her key and whatever episode features “Apples to the Core” might end with Pinkie getting hers.
 
But we shall see. Still a long season ahead of us.

Here’s hoping the pony of shadows has something to do with it.
