Yeah, I’m not to keen on just copy-and-paste images like this either, there’s actually lots of good Sonic fanartists out there, but problem is, most of ‘em probably aren’t into ponies.
 
Funny thing is, Ben Bates an artist for the Sonic comic, drew the Pinkie Pie micro-series issue. Not to mention Clair Corlett’s (Sweetie Belle’s voice) daddy Ian James Corlett voiced Coconuts the robot monkey in the AoStH cartoon, and Knuckles in “Sonic Underground.”  
So pony actually does have some odd links to Sonic.

I feel the same way… I am indifferent to the Sonic franchise and it’s fandom, even though when Sega puts out a Sonic product, half of they bitch how it sux and the other half thinks it’s been programmed by the Almighty himself. With that, half the images that come in here are crappy copy-paste vectors with no creativity while the other half (those who have any artistic training and talent) are stuck on “suck face” pictures than actual storytelling and pushing the crossover into something fun and enjoyable.
 
I believe this is the key factor why majority of users here are not fond of Sonic images, the artwork is either too lazy, too predictable, too lackluster or all of the above too gather anything positive to the group. It’s sad too since there is so much potential and a somewhat decent amount of Sonic x-over art in here but buried under the same old tripe.
 
You basically said the very thing I had wished sonic fanartists WOULD pick up, instead crying that Bronies hate their Sonic artwork.

Oh, don’t get me started on the movie’s E-robots!
 
See, they’re an actual thing in the games: the E-1000, a type of enemy appearing in Sonic Adventure 2 that’s a mass-produced version of SA1’s one-of-a-kind robot protagonist, E-102. The E-1000s differ from E-102 in that they have two guns instead of one and don’t have a jet-pack.  
The ones in the show have one gun and jet-packs.  
The ones in the show are E-102 models. Straight out. They just took an E-102 model and decided it was the height of their creative ability, and called it a day.  
…except they’re called E-100s. Which is an entirely different one-of-a-kind robot also appearing in SA1 (the one that chases Amy).
 
What I’m saying is GOD DAMN THAT MOVIE SUCKS!

I liked it. :P It was kinda cool they got Sonic’s original voice (Jaleel White) in it, and I liked the Buzzbomber’s & E-Series robot designs.

What I wanna see is some genuinely good ideas used in a Sonic/Pony crossover. Fluttershy and Cream playing with Angel and Cheese, Angel getting bored and terrorizing Eggman and stealing his mechs, I’d pay to see that!
 
And maybe stuff like Knuckles and Big Mac having an arm/hoof wrestle. Pinkie Pie doing everything in her power to get Shadow to crack a smile. Tails and Twilight chilling out discussing magic and the application of magic within technology. Discord going nuts and giving half of the Sonic gang headaches. Rouge and Rarity making out taking part in ordinary platonic gem-related activities.
 
That sorta thing.
