Your Doctor Whooves cosplay would do better without the hat (because all opinions on fedoras aside, it’s not part of the character itself).
 
I think having a suit is a good first step. If I were you, I’d keep the suit and put some sort of brown overcoat over the top of it, and spike your hair up (like David Tennant?)
 
The last bit, of course, would be to include the hourglass symbol in there somewhere. Maybe a badge, or a patch somewhere to indicate that it’s specifically Doctor Whooves rather than just the 10th Doctor.

Bit of advice for the future… the caricature image of a brony is someone wearing one of those types of fedoras. It’s sort of a reviled thing among young people (teens/20’s) on this part of the internet.
 
The hat might work for you IRL, but post a picture of it online (and especially in a pony-related context) and you’re guaranteeing that someone’s going to post shit about it. I’m sorry, but there’s not really anything that can be done about that.

Some people are blunt in their criticism… and then some people are dickwads.

I’m sorry people jumped at you for posting an image of yourself. There’s a trend on the internet, mostly among teenagers and people in their early 20-somethings called “fedora shaming”. It’s become sort of a meanspirited internet meme, and there’s not much that can be done about it.
 
That’s the main reason why you were attacked though, because you posted a picture of yourself wearing a trilby hat. If I were you I wouldn’t take it personally, but you’ve got to realize that when you post an image of yourself on the internet, people can say whatever they want and sometimes it won’t be very nice.

I would like to stay connected to people that r helping me please, I feel safer that way
