…and good riddance to all those fair-weather fans!
I believe that by the time alicorn Twilight got introduced, this was when the fandom bandwagoners hopped off the wagon and walked off to the distance while the ones who stayed on the ride did because of how much they enjoyed the show and not because of the massive Internet attention the fandom was getting. Not that there’s anything inherently wrong with that, but it is interesting how that seemingly weeded out some people, with the announcement of EQG soon after also doing the trick.
We have extraordinarily diverging tastes in seasons.
No purer way to live one’s truth than to alter reality to match it. But I do agree that the reason the fandom isn’t on hair-trigger drama alert is primarily that the majority of those who vehemently oppose current thing eventually burn out and leave.
Yeah, pretty much everyone who stayed on at least accepted the stuff (I say it like that because I know that a lot of people who weren’t happy about it simply left the fandom) - though there was someone super-dedicated (I guess to put it diplomatically) who, even up to a couple years ago (AFAIK) would edit Twilight’s wings out of screenshots.
It’s interesting revisiting old images like this talking about the drama of the time and looking at it in hindsight and with a historical perspective of it knowing that by the end of the series, pretty much everybody accepted alicorn Twilight and moved on to other things. It really puts into perspective how things were at the time and a perfect time capsule of the era.
Hmm, haven’t thought about this in a hot minute… I think it was:
8 > 5 > 4 > 9 > 7 > 6 > 2 > 1 > 3
I just can’t get over the fact that the artist included 3 examples of things that would never change in the show - and then ended up being wrong about all 3.
What overall order do you rank the seasons, then?
You’re one of the rare people here who actually liked 9. The few, the proud, the S9 enjoyers.
Apologies, I just realized I worded what I wanted to say incredibly poorly.
Because it kept going on or because the writers didn’t bother to check the show Bible (or even watch older episodes)?
And the show ended up so much the better for it.
Such is what happens when a show lasts six more seasons than planned with writers who don’t read the show bible.
The artist was 0 for 3 - goddamn 😂
Edited because: Realized it probably wasn’t the artist who posted this here
Oh the irony! This delicious, sweet irony! XD
WE lost the Elements and gained the Totally Not Just The Elements Except A Magical Rainbow.
I put forth she directed that at the magic being performed, not the princess.
Season one episode 23 Twiight sees Celestia for the first time at the summer sun celebration, you can see the “yeah thats what I wanna do” look on her face, she then begins studying magic, her parents then personally select celestia’s school to send her to in support of that
That depends on what you consider “progression”. Not all change is for the better.
Also, since when was princesshood one of Twilight’s goals?
Yeah it is, in the first book Ned said to Robert that Jon mother was Wylla.
