They have really inspired my fanfic idea generation. However, when I was planning a re-watch of the first two and a half seasons (before the fic breaks from FiM continuity), I found that S02E19 has been removed from my hard drive.
It’s a book about a bunch of notes detailing a film documentary about a house that contains an impossible maze.
Or, as TV Tropes likes to dumb it down, the book itself is a friggin’ maze xD .
But no worries, you pretty much covered everything =D .
I was still in my late teens when I read it. Talking about it makes me want to read it again.
IIRC the book is supposed to be an essay about “The Navidson Record” (the film documenting the exploration of the titular house) written by a guy named Zampanò, which was found and annotated by Johnny Truant who goes on tangents to tell his own story (which becomes increasingly unreliable) while compiling Zampanò’s notes, and also includes letters from his increasingly mentally unstable mother in the appendix for some reason. That’s what I recall at least. Did I get anything wrong? Or forget something? (probably)
Edited because: Aside from the fact that the house is much bigger on the inside, is changing its layout and may or may not contain a minotaur
Hmmm, you might be right. Or, for all I remember (it’s been three years), they both read it.
Eh, it’s definitely a book that I could go back to again. If anything, it was entertaining in that head-scratching sort of way xD .
I thought Navidson was the one reading the book (and burning it for light)? Admittedly, it’s been a while since I read it.
To be fair, Mark Z. pretty much stated in an interview that the book is completely intended to screw with the reader’s perception of… well, reading.
But yeah, once it got to the point where Johnny’s reading the book that he himself is in (i.e. - the book that you’re reading), that’s pretty much the point where most people find out if they’re into the book or if they hate it xD .
The TV Tropes article is worth checking as well.

Could you explain?
