It’s only “ineffectual” because people are enraged by it and choose to be disruptive out of spite, much like those who want to prevent the problem from being solved by hurling strawmen at anyone who mentions it.

It’s not hard to add, so add it when it’s missing. Unless it actually causes you dire mental anguish to see wings on the colorful imaginary equine in pictures from a cartoon targeted at children for a few seconds (which I really doubt, you seem too rational for that), silently fixing the tags should not be a problem. If you’d just do that we wouldn’t be having this conversation and we could’ve both have avoided all this drama.
 
I’d also like to remind you that “Do not complain about the lack of optional (non-rating, non-spoiler) tags” is an official moderator ruling.

Fair enough, but it’s not hard to add, and requesting it shouldn’t be a minefield. I am merely attempting to leave a once in a while reminder to add it if possible, so I do not have such content presented to me. It’s a no-win situation all around. If I don’t say something, I have to see it. If I say something I’ll be accused of inciting drama, when that’s really not my intention.

You talk about making people happier, but your constant comments only serve to incite drama. Most people know to add the correct tags, so if you notice an image missing a tag you don’t like just add it without stirring up conflict.

I only complained on every fourth image I found that was lacking it. Besides, if it’s not a big deal, why is it a big deal if I request (usually quite politely) that the uploaders try to add that tag to future images, especially given that it is quite easy to do so, and would make me and more than a few people I know quite a bit happier with coming here?

You complaining about it on every picture you can find will probably just make people “forget” about it out of sheer spite, and I don’t blame them. Just add the tag yourself. It’s not that hard.

Another day, another wave of people who don’t use the Princess Twilight tag. Seriously, people, it’s not that hard.
