Don’t want to start anything, just realized that basically nothing’s changed about the show since Twilight became an alicorn. Not taking a positon on the original alicorn drama itself, either the Season 3 finale should have marked a permanent non-aesthetic change or the alicorn thing shouldn’t have been done at all.

Exactly.
Such are things relative to one’s own opinion, though. If someone hated the direction Halo or Megaman went after the first game for whatever the reason, they’d say there was no reason to make sequels since those entries sucked due to what they felt were pointless decisions in the story.
I honestly can’t wait until whatever happens in the finale so all the people who are still butthurt will finally have the last straw and just leave already. Dragging oneself kicking and screaming through an entire season of a show like this is just embarrassing.
But neither Halo or Megaman had pointless changes to the story. Halo was a singular arc that knew where it was going, and Megaman is a series of alternate realitiea so didferences come naturally.
Nice
Hmm…I feel like I brought up alot of unnecessary things in that comment, and some incorrect (curse my 3AM typing stupor).
I what I truly meant to say, it was an anticlimactic end to what should of been an absolute grand finale to a story ark. We got mostly singing and about 3 different plots squeezed into a 21min episode. It would of been better if it was more fleshed out in a two or even a 3 parter seeing it was such a big event.
The journey to gaining princess/alicorn status was indeed grand when you look at it, but a grand journey needs a grand end or it just kind of falls flat, mediocre to be honest.
It was still enjoyable, all the singing and such but so many things felt like they were missing, like Discord, what I said earlier about the special talents of the mane 6 getting switched around (minus Twi), Swirlbeard’s Incomplete Spell and the coronation itself all could of benefited if more time was put into each.
There a much better critique overall now that I’m basically NOT in a drunken stupor…you can pretty much write off my last comment and put this one in it’s stead. Apologies…
Though the one thing that does bother me (completely minor by the way and purely in my opinion) was the whole thing where she did all these aerial acrobatics during the finale and yet after wards completely forgets how her wings work…most people have pretty much chalked this up to “The Power of Song”, which I guess I can get behind…doesn’t mean it doesn’t bother me still. And people said Freakazoid! wasn’t educational…

This. I get the feeling I’m in the minority on this issue, but I’m glad to see I’m not alone.
Lemme hyperlink that for you
I think I actually had a hot wheels car like that too.
It’s not the end of the journey, that’s the biggest point of all. She reached a big goal and the presentation was grand as ever, but a goal is merely a pivot point, a marker on the path to see what we can become. So many people just wrote Twilight’s journey off as finished when she became a princess despite the fact that things where said to be completely the opposite.
She will always have help because you should never have to face your journey alone, her friend’s are not a crutch, they are there for her just as she is there for them.
No…one would assume the right to become a princess and alicorn, in this case, would be extremely difficult and an arduous journey…multiple in fact. It’s like yeah you saved the world a few times, but would that make you a great princess or any other sort of royal position? Not really, and you didn’t even do it alone you had 5-6 other entities helping you…
She pretty much went through all that but the build up was so great that it fell face first into the dirt when all we got was “Well…you’re a princess now, enjoy.”
This isn’t really stereotyping when most of us just wanted a climactic conclusion to what was an excellent overall and entertaining journey. Anticlimactic doesn’t really cut it.
Again to reiterate, not stereotyping…at least most of us aren’t…
The point is the potential to make bank on it is there, just like Twilicorn, but nobody cares about that because it doesn’t draw out their inner neckbeard.
Lots and lots of alcohol.
Deal with it how?
