That also reminds me of this one fanfic where everything in the dialogue implied that Twilight had died in a fire that burned down her library, even talking about getting her “a place at the top of that hill… It’s such a lovely view… I think she’d like that…” and stuff like that. Then it turns out that, while the library DID burn down, Twilight was very much alive and the “place at the top of the hill” was just her new house. I can’t remember what it was called, but it was written in the second-person, specifically from Fluttershy’s POV. It was apparently some kind of experiment by the author, but I can’t remember the full details.
