I submit, for the approval of the Council of Pedants, the theory that Fluttershy told the spider to appear, as an excuse for her to jump into Big Mac’s forelegs.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

The show has explicitly shown that Fluttershy is not afraid of spiders, or many other animals people are typically scared of. I don’t mind a Meet Cute for my favorite ship, but c’mon, characterization counts.

I an really annoyed by the fact that Fluttershy is afraid of any animal (that isn’t a dragon)

Sadly, he dropped her on the spider, and fluttershy became traumatized. She was never the same again, and also the spider as well.
