Pretty much every height chart uploaded to this site that tries to use some kind of logic beyond headcanon to determine the heights of these ponies seems to spit out a height somewhere between 3’2” and 3’9”. That’s surprisingly consistent.

Pretty much. Stallions are typically come out at around four feet tall, and mares at around three feet six inches. Cheese Sandwich is probably no older than Pinkie Pie, but he seems to be a little lanky, the equivalent of a tall skinny guy like Weird Al.

There will always be a horizon decided in the shot design. If they didn’t account for it at all it’d look weird. The horizon line I used was a typical choice for a short shot. It would look weird with any other horizon choice, given the puppets… just look in the bottom image. The perspective is skewed there for that reason.

Usually it can be ignored, but in a shot like this any perspective other than following that of the puppets (most logically horizon line at focal eye-line) would be visually detrimental.

Yeah I take that back, I should say within a short object (perspective between the front and back) or over short distance, they don’t bother with perspective.

Even if they did account for perspective in this case, it’s not possible to account for it without some reference in the image. If you assume there is perspective then the final measurement is actually slightly, just slightly smaller.

Not sure if you fuckers can actually make sense of this, but i tried taking perspective into account for the top image:
