I can’t help but play the pessimist on this point, because I know how hard it is for most western cartoons to mess with their traditional cast of characters. Twilight will be the main character, no matter what contrivance is needed to make that happen.
That’s bothersome enough, but the thought of them blowing off some real development for Sunset is just too much… I would love to be proven wrong on any point here, though.

Well, whether it’s pony Twilight or human (most likely the latter), we can’t say for sure with what we have so far. Though to be honest, this sort of scenario would be interesting. The HuMane five meet the human Twilight who isn’t like the pony Twilight they met.
Given the toy for her, I think Sunset will likely appear.
It’s only natural that the five would show up again, but it’s my understanding that this is pony Twilight again. Even if it isn’t, why would they force human Twi into the story? Especially since Sunset Shimmer is a perfectly good candidate for a major role. Are they just going to ignore her?
Actually, it looks more like the HuMane Five will be in the spotlight as well as their universe’s Twilight.

The original WAS decent, but it bugs me that Twilight has taken a lead role again. Can’t they put her down for two seconds?
