Same here. G1 has a lot of great stuff.
It’s dark for what it is. Horror movies have worse and yes even other cartoons can, but with the prospective, aimed audience in mind, this is quite dark.

there’s your key word. and after g1, it dropped. thankfully this show combines the dark elements along with being light and cutesy to make it entertaining, more so than any of its predecessors.

I remind you that G1 had some pretty freaky stuff, too.
…Though this show seems to be trying to top that in terms of sheer nightmare fuel.
And this is a CMC episode, which (generally) tend to be lighter than normal episodes and don’t usually include anything paranormal or magical (except for “Stare Master”).
Little girls can’t handle anything that isn’t fluffy, pink, and harmless. Clearly this is a manly show for manly men because ACTION and MONSTERS.
