Not that you can get hit higher then 9999
_’believe it or not, i found omega mk II and neo Shinryu to be easier than the originals. The post endgame area in final fantasy 5 on gba was kind of disappointing in my opinion because each super boss was easily beaten using certain gimmicks.
With the original omega and shinryu even with the strategies you still had to be quick thinking and a little lucky.
Yeah. After getting my ass kicked by some of the random encounters in the GBA-exclusive Sealed Temple, I simply decided, “F*** it, I’m not doing this thing.”
…Although it’s worth noting that the GBA-exclusive job class Gladiator and its Finisher ability ends up trivializing most of the endgame. …Wait, why did I never try using that on Shinryu? That might’ve made it much easier.
@Jarkes
And then they went and made a stronger version in the gba port.
lol yeah the first time i beat him i just stood up from my computer (snes emulator) and held my hands in the air silently.
The only final fantasy boss i had never beaten had finally fallen.
You don’t even have to use that, just cast a normal Berserk spell. Still a major pain, though.
I didn’t, but that was only because I knew all about him the first time I played through the entire game. …Which was last summer (it was the GBA version).
He’s still a pain in the ass even if you equip Coral Rings. Heck, the strategy I used, casting Berserk on him to prevent his magic, and then constantly summoning Golem to protect your party while the rest of your party pummels him, is a difficult strategy to use, because you pretty much have to summon Golem every turn, because it will be destroyed in one hit from the Berserked Shinryu.
i want to like final fantasy 2, but every time i play it there are points where i just lose all interest. i’ve never beaten the game without taking 1 or 2 breaks from it for a few weeks.
I like the characters (especially Ricard mother fucking highwind) but little things drive me nuts. Like leveling magic and as you mentioned… the trap rooms >_<
Monster in the box!
Heh… I remember when Final Fantasy II went crazy with that. And not to mention those stupid empty rooms with ridiculously high encounter rates.
My experience:
Almost there…
