As for Trixie, she has many more lines of spoken dialogue than Dumbbell, and for that reason I feel that it would be much easier to find a suitable match for her.
 
Your conclusion that I feel umbrage towards the artist for drawing this ship is specious. I actually consider Dbkit to be quite talented. I wish “him” all of the success in the world.
 
“He” can jolly well create whatever pieces “he” pleases. Anyone that dislikes what “he” produces can go pound sand, and I will defend “his” artistic freedom, as should we all.

Dumbbell has only two canon personality traits: stupidity, and a fondness for badgering others.
 
Considering his repugnant personality, I would contend that the only cogent reason that a person might want to ship Rainbow Dash with Dumbbell is because of his non-standard character design.
 
I esteem such a consideration to be trivial.

Rainbow Dash can do way better than Dumbbell. She’s a hometown hero, paragon of virtue, savior of ponykind, world-class athlete, and her mane is sui generis. Dumbbell is a grown stallion, and he was making fun of Ms. Dash like a snot-nosed colt.

I can ship it.

I like the idea of them being friends. He did say sorry after all.
