So you don’t believe in any absolute right or wrong? For instance, if a serial killer truly, sincerely believed that raping, torturing and cannibalizing women was “good”, would you simply say that it’s “one opinion against another”? Where is the line, or is there no line? Not trying to troll here, I’m honestly curious. I see the “morality/opinions are subjective” argument all the time, but when I ask people just look at me strangely and say that some things are obvious. Are they really? On what objective, firm basis does one define “right” or “wrong”? Does it change over time, and depend on society?

I can definitely get behind what you’re saying. What I consider a “stupid opinion” is one that’s based on false information or faulty logic (not just an opinion that is different than mine). In those cases I don’t go “you’re wrong, end of story”, but instead try to educate them and convince them otherwise.  
tl;dr: I agree with you that just because an opinion is different than mine, that doesn’t make it bad. I just don’t like uneducated and unfounded opinions.

like I said, there must be some logic behind every opinion that makes sense to that person. if and when it comes down to it, it ends up just being one opinion against another and one must always keep in mind that opinions are not fact. no opinion is correct because opinions are one hundred percent subjective.  
you dont need to change how you act in any major way, i would just recommend not going “I dont like your opinion, you’re wrong, end of story”. As much as i disagree with the SJW mentality I honestly believe that (a good portion of) their ideals are inherently altruistic and i understand they believe the system works a certain way and if they could make it work another it would be for the better. I disagree and think they go about it in a totally wrong way but i grok their way of thinking.

You know, when I posted that, I was just trying to mess with you by making an opinion that was completely contrary to yours to see what you’d do, but now I’m curious. What do you even mean by valid? And if an opinion is valid, how should that change how we act? Because I find the word valid a bit vague in this case.

there must be some level of logic behind every opinion that makes sense to the owner. some experience that has left that person with some knowledge about how something works. you can disagree with it all you want, but you should still respect it and the person who expressed it.

I don’t see what’s quite so bad about this. All this is saying is that you should consider the perspectives of people who might feel more disadvantaged than you. Is that really such a bad thing?

Can you imagine Purple Tinker stealing from her con, harrasing her con, and being a drama whore but being able to make the debate about her Transexual Status rather than her terrible actions? A guy wouldn’t be able to pull that off, so that looks a lot like Privlege to me.
