Yeah. After seeing THIS image(>>585844), AJ doesn’t seem too happy.
Well, I’d be sobbing my eyes out.
I wouldn’t exactly care for that either. If the Apples were smart, they never would have agreed to the brothers’ silly contest in the first place.
That would have made for an interesting story arc, if the Apples lost their farm and had to find some other way to survive.
If this was the kind of show that did that sort of thing, that is.
I wouldn’t be happy if Applejack’s family was forced to leave Ponyville forever.
But still, they didn’t make any attempt to trick anyone. They put out a bad product, and it was rejected. Pretty straightforward business. They shouldn’t have attempted to sell the bad cider of course, but if they hadn’t, the show would have taken a pretty dramatic turn, wouldn’t it?
Yet they didn’t turn it back on.
That doesn’t exactly make them cons. It was a poor way to perform the challenge, but the quality control could have just as easily been switched back on.
And yet, they got desperate in a race that they shut off the option to remove twigs, rocks and other gross stuff.
This is AJ’s key episode. I’ve got a good feeling.
Their product (Super Speedy Cider Squeezie 6000) performed exactly as they had claimed it would. It made cider of decent quality in vast quantity.

you mean, besides the fact that they were one of the most entertaining and fitting foil duo for a main character?

Oh, still if the episode goes for the redemption roll then good things will happen.
I’d like to see a source on that, but even if she did say it, there’s just too much about the comics that is not only contradicts the story, but also the style of the show to consider them canonically part of the same general timeline. That’s while you’ll never see any sort reference made from the show to incidents in the comics.
