Actually about right now, all that I’m sure of is that the finale will feature the Princesses, Discord, some villan and the magic box. And Twilight gets a new Castle.
I’m not sure if there has been any evidence at all that the rainbow power will be in the final, it could be exclusive to the new movie.

And then, more than a thousand years later, Twilight (before time travelling and beard growing) learned that she is the direct descendant of Starswirl.
So, she’s a descendant of herself.
And then Starswirl the Bearded was actually Twilight Sparkle the entire time, through time travel and other timey wimey magical stuff.
She’ll grow it.
They’re rainbow teasers right now, but the concept of objects being disguised as keys only to transform to their “normal” state is nothing new.
I’d personally love it if they sprung a surprise episode on us, just leave the weekend after the season 4 finale with nothing listed on any of the TV schedule listing things. On the TV guides just have an ‘TBA’ in the block of time the pony episodes usually happens.
And then throw out some totally silly episode staring Surprise.

We may not know what kind of key Twi will get until episode 26. (or 27 if believe zap2it)

Hmm, naah, Twilight’s key is probably something nerdy like a book.
So all it took for Twilight to get her key, was to learn a new meaning of friendship via Celestia choosing Discord over her? Hope Celestia is not trolling her, though who’s surprised if she is at this point.
That’s what makes it clever.
It’s not immediately obvious.
Keys are suppose to be given in the same episode.
Plot twist: her key is actually the necklace Discord gave her.
She doesn’t immediately recognize it right away.
These are they Keys of Friendship.
A bit is just disappointing.
Although realistically I also just realized that so far, all of the keys are small and simple enough to be included as character item accessories with the toys.
Too bad that I don’t follow the toys that closely.
