There’s a decently sized (and vocal) part of the fandom that prefers any sort of canon names over fanon ones, even if they’re just from toys or staff tweets. So a few popular background ponies get the fanon name implied by the canon one, and the canon one implied by the fanon. Shouldn’t bother anyone and it keeps people happy.
