There is missing context from this scene.  
Sombra is actually appearing wherever he likes by pushing magical crystal spikes out of the ground!  
He wasn’t right there a few moments ago!

…are these comments seriously trying to suggest that this pony wanted to kill herself? On a kid’s show?
 
FiM might deal with some more adult themes, sure, but not this far.

Yeah, those who say Bambi was just some “wimpy/cutesy deer,” or a “baby’s movie” obviously never saw it. The movie got quite dark when he grew-up. (Same with Lion King, and a few other movies.) That’s kinda true to real-life. As a kid the world seems more brighter/cheery, but as you grow-up it kinda seems more cruel/darker at times.

Reminds me of the bird that panicked in “Bambi,” and got killed.

I hear so much about Sombra being a one-liner non-villain.  
Ponies were defiant against Nightmare Moon.  
Ponies were annoyed with Discord.  
Ponies ran in fear from Chrysalis’s army.  
But here this one mare is so completely scared she attempts to run … Into an arctic region where she’d likely freeze rather quickly, choosing that horrible end in preference to what the return of Sombra would be like.
 
It is just too bad the writers couldn’t write Sombra in more, with the ratings in place and all. I believe he would have been truly terrifying.

Try to run for it. I think she’d rather face the rampaging blizzard outside then Sombra.

Turns out it’s Amber Waves. Took me a couple times to recognize, they used a shot of her in ’pure /happy ’ crystal form.
