It may be trite, but “6 seasons and a movie” is ideal for this. (EQG doesn’t count). S4 not hit a bad mark yet, but I feel that there’s not a lot they can do with massive formula changeups. But you aim for 6 and consider DTV films, and then you have something.
As much as I don’t want the quality to just go to pot over time, it’s kinda amazing to me how many people were upset when they thought it was going to last 5 more years and not end sooner than that. As long as they can keep the quality high enough, it’s not like it’s the kind of show that has a very specific storyline and HAS to end at a certain point or be doomed. If that was the case it would have ended when Twi became a princess, but it’s SO much more interesting to see what’s beyond that, now that she is one.
Anyways, if Rarity was writing the next 15 seasons, they’re at least guaranteed to be fabulous if nothing else.

I think most reporting it (including EQD) was clear that it was “5 more years of profitable Pony franchise stuff” and clearly not “5 more years of pony show”.
But people just heard “5 more years” and assumed more pony show for 5 years.
I see, well thank’s for clearing that out for me.
That whole 5-year-plan thing misunderstanding still hasn’t been addressed by EqD, has it? According to people who actually watched that webcast, they didn’t say the show is going to last for 5 more years, all they said is that they expect it to be profitable for at least 5 more years, which basically says nothing. I think SweetieBot just sorta misheard it, or something.

Since this show has a large fandom and the whole 5 year plan thing, it could be possible.
You better not turn Twilight into the goddess of some multi-verse who takes on whatever form she wishes and has the power to eliminate any problem with the blink of an eye.
