@HJSDGCE Since comic Luna is so perpetually angry for some reason I do not look forwards to seeing Evilestia’s chances against her if they decide to pull a twist and let them through the portal in the last issue. I am so calling a massive curbstomp as she goes completely unrestrained pillow-punching-venting. In fact it will be quite a disappointment if they don’t do the opponent-switch tactic. Their own lack of confidence in their comic selves tells me they will be utterly ill-prepared for a mirror face-off.

The writer is doing pretty good, but I agree that I’m not expecting much out of alternate-Luna. I mean with Nightmare Moon, edgy Luna, reformed Luna, and Nightmare Rarity…there are only so many spins they can make on Luna’s character.
 
A full reversal on Luna’s current character would be hard to do all things considering.

I really hope evil luna has a secret fun-lovin’ side though to mirror normal Luna having a crazy megalomaniacal bitch side, but you can’t really expect too much from this writer.

Just as RD said, as someone who’s faced their darkside before, Evil Luna would not stand a chance against Luna. But she also wants to see her big sister’s dark side, to finally put her issues with Celesita fully…vented. :D
 
Reminds me of when Green Lantern and Hawkgirl smashed nano-clones of not themselves, but each other, to vent their break-up.

@Bryon If only Sonneborn was writing this. Then the fighting part wouldn’t be the incredibly-odd-alternate-universe twin thing she really had to worry about. Heheh.

Something tells me that Celestia just can’t bring herself to fight herself hypothetically. And it’s gonna be a BIG problem since I suspect the girls will come back and end up having to face not just themselves, but the princesses will have to face their counterparts.
 
It’s just like any comics with alternate evil versions of good characters… I know it from seeing stuff in DC Comics with the Justice League and their evil counterparts, the Crime Syndicate.

the reason why there is a problem seesm to be because of celestia to begin with, constantly visiting the universe. my guess is that doing so would make it easier for the evil regal ones to enter their equestria, and thus we would have a pair of regal sister level enemies running amok. for sall the threat discord was he was simply a trickster and one being, not an ursurper and two.

actually dude it seems clear that does not happen. in one of hte issue covers it shows, quite clearly, celestia and luna fighting their counterparts. coves are neve r100% but the mlp ones have yet to outright lie to us.
 
we may yet see some badass celestia vs evil version yet.

@PonyPon Well, it’s just kinda the same BS hackneyed excuse as in other alt universe works for random-important-mirror-person-to-not-get-involved-when-they-caused-this-shit-to-happen-in-the-first-place.  
This automatically means more fun ideas like Celestia trying on the Tyrant hat to trick Evilestia’s army and resulting in mass confusion in that universe won’t happen. Or since she went through that whole NMM phase and mirror probably didn’t, she winds up being better at cliche villain-y and kinda scary compared to based on her expression ‘haughty evil snarker’ luna. Alt universes in western comics always just seem to fall into these kinds of pitfalls where the most interesting way to explore things simply never happens.

@PonyPon Yeah, there’s way too many boneheaded cliche pileups in this arc, it’s like TVTropes is writing the series now. It doesn’t help they never show just what is supposed to be happening that is sooooo terrible about crossing universes too often and such. It’s just a bunch of magickal gobbledegook technobabble about unseen tragedies.

Oh and uh, blah blah, jurisdictions blah blah, alternate universe, blah not enough hours in the day.

It’s funny how the night/moon-themed member of pair is the hotheaded one while the day/sun-themed member of the pair is the cautious, calm one.
 
When most fiction have sun/moon pairs, it’s usually the other way around.
