I agree, I still have the dream of one day there would be a human version of Spike, be it he turns human or if he has a human counterpart

The most logical explanation would be that she would remain a dog.  
Most people think the portal turns you into something else if your species doesn’t exist in that world. Both dragons and technicolor flying, talking, magic-wielding horses don’t exist in the human world, but dogs do.

The dog thing aside, the movie did handle his character perfectly (only thing it did right).  
But yeah, the dog thing is still…ugh.  
I mean, I understand why they did it but…it looks demeaning.

Never has the “careful what you wish for” tag been so appropriate; at this point, I sorta want Spike to become a human just to observe the devastation when he’s actually shown as a human kid.

Agreed; while it was a bit frustrating that he ended up as a dog instead of a human, I can understand why they did it, and he was the funniest character in the movie.

Hehe, maybe so, but at this point Raki is literally the only character left that I still care about in the manga. I’ll keep reading to find out his fate but I could care less about anyone else still alive.
 
And besides I knew something like this would happen eventually, I mean he’s super cool and all but he’s still just a normal human so gotta take what I can get. He makes a decent badass normal.
