Although, it could be a Hurricane, because those also had a three bladed prop IIRC. And, the Mk II only had MGs in both is A and B configurations.
It could be a Mk IIA. That had a three-bladed prop, but no cannons. Not to mention, assuming this is equivalent to early WWII, it could be that they haven’t received a cannon armed aircraft yet.
Active Navy, we never, ever, ever salute uncovered.
The whole “uncovered” thing most likely means that they are in an overseas deployed environment. That’s the only place that I can think of that you can be uncovered and still get away with a salute. (Active Army, so I would know)
