I agree. Even though I’m a fan of the OG G man, I think that the ‘98 Zilla has to get some respect. He’s doesn’t look like Godzilla, but he’s still a Godzilla, nonetheless. Zilla was the 2004 one.
“Zilla is sill the Worst of the Toho monsters”
Really!
The only reason people call him that is because of the title he held and the movie he came from Zilla the Monster it self is actually a great monster
“it doesn’t even have any of the lovably”
We Zilla fans do exist
and maybe if the fanbase would stop beating this long 20 year old dead horse and stop hating him for what he’s not and except him for what he is maybe zilla could finally get some form of respect as he’s own monster.
Edited
HOW DARE YOU COMPARE ZILLA TO THE BADASS TYRANNOSAURUS REX?! SHAME ON YOU FOR SUCH BLASPHEMY
At least Jr managed to get himself some good rep.
Zilla in the movie didn’t breath fire, it’s breath may react to flames but it has to find a already lit fire(to flaming car in the road) to even do that.
Design, yes. But Zilla was effectively a fire-breathing t-rex from Jurassic Park. Plus, that bit with the baby Zillas was much, much too close to JP scenes with velociraptors.
Jr (who I assume is the one from the cartoon) was much, much better.
“Zilla is sill the worst of the Toho monsters”
To each their own i guess.
Honestly, Zilla(and Jr) hand an awesome design.
That’s fine, just remember that Zilla is sill the worst of the Toho monsters, it doesn’t even have any of the lovably goofy bit to fall back on.
YOU FUCK!!!!!D:<
and who here remembers Cloverfield?
I didn’t like the 2014 movie at all.
….. I regret nothing…..
And the cartoon series was admittedly not that bad.
Half that the 1998 version was a rip off of Jurassic park. So your definitely not wrong about the climax.
Honestly, I couldn’t believe they wasted time on that. I wanted to watch Godzilla leave New York a wasteland, the same way the original Godzilla ruined Tokyo in his very first movie.
Instead we get a glorified game of hide-and-seek, and a climax more suitable for Jurassic Park than Godzilla.
Yep, first shot of the movie was a marine iguana and it’s nest with eggs with a bomb test in the background, and somehow Zilla came from one of the eggs… oh ya, real “realistic” how it mutated that fast.
Oh, that’s right. They stressed that it was an iguana, didn’t they? In order to make it more realistic, or something?
ME TO!
IT’S 100% COOLER!!!!
You mean the iguana.
Indeed. At least this new Godzilla actually feels like, you know, Godzilla. As opposed to a green t-rex on steroids.
