this is actually fairly itnersting overall.  
and it seems her actions of creating them has, overall, made them more human like and complex.  
my guess is that it turns out that eleme nt is, in fact, magic. and things like Fluttershy’s greater range of behaviors comes from being linked to it.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash are supported by Fluttershy’s wings.  
Fluttershy’s wings are supported by Fluttershy.  
Applying the laws of physics, Applejack and Rainbow Dash are supported by Fluttershy; ergo, Fluttershy is not fragile.

looks to me like Fluttershy is not as fragile as Twilight thinks. Sure her wings are supporting Applejack and Rainbow Dash, but what’s supporting those wings?
