You think an idiot can run an entire farm? Applejack is probably one of the smartest of the Mane 6. She handles not only the care-taking of animals, trees, and a variety of produce, but she is also responsible for selling the goods. That’s like 3-4 different professions rolled into one. It’s not just a lot of “hard-work” as the show likes to put it, but a lot of patience, intuition, and streets smarts are required. And, just for clarification it was pointed out in Pinkie Apple Pie, by AB that she does indeed run Sweet Apple Acres. Also, like cosgandpigots said, there are episodes where she is the most reasonable character.

That wasn’t so much predicting as it was guessing correctly everything that had already happened. That’s not exactly hard when you have most of the information, and Applejack was there for most of the episode.

But you have to have some level of intelligence in order to predict the entire episode like that. Not that much though, Filli Vanilli was incredibly predictable.
