What I appreciate about this picture is that it displays her actual cutie mark: a plain rock, instead of the fancy gemstone-shaped one featured in most fanarts.  
Am I the only one to think this one suits Maud better?

Nah. That just means there’s only 5% of the explicit images on here are awesome. The other 95% are still awesome, but just significantly less so.
