It might not even be whether you’re at that level or not: It could just be a case of them being comfortable with themselves to the point where they can accept being called certain things, ON TOP of knowing they’re jokes.
 
I mean, Fluttershy didn’t just run off and cry: She stayed, so it’s probably more of a “I know I’m a crybaby, I’m sorry!”-kind of thing.
