A moment of silence please for all the brave ponies (and one minotaur) that gave their lives defending Equestria from an otherworldly invasion.
(This is my first playthrough, and what my memorial wall looks like so far.)
Sometimes it’s wrong and must be manually fixed, though. Like, I’ve had a soldier with blonde buzz-cut and extremely muscular physique, who got nicknamed something utterly irrelevant. That was amended immediately.
I would like to suggest Awakening then if you’re having trouble with permadeath, since it has the option to turn it off.
Rest in peace brave soldiers
In MY playthrough, it was Braeburn that ended up getting shot by a panicked Big Mac. And one more of these deaths was caused by a panicked Derpy.
3 playthroughs in a row I’ve had a solider named Braeburn always, always end up shooting someone in a panic at low rank. That pony is fucking jittery till he gets some experience under his belt.
So far, every soldier that has survived past Lieutenant rank hasn’t been killed yet, so their survival rates are much better after that point.
It’s still an interesting narrative to see who survives in the end, and who ends up getting killed by a panicking comrade. (Careful Derpy!)
Let me clarify something.
This is X-Com. Soldier death is normal in the game, especially if you’re not good at tactic games in the first place. Getting a list like this is pretty common until you learn what to do.
Getting an upvote cause fuck, keeping your soldiers alive is hard.
Course the idiot kind of deserved it, missed an 86% shot with a shotty, 2 tiles away with not obstructions.
