Not quite the same. Rather, it’s his right hand drawing his left onto his wrist, which is sitting on a piece of paper (Dad has both hands, though, so it’s just part of the art).

Oh, I know Escher. I’ve got pictures of Lego re-creations of Relativity, Castrovalva, Ascending, Belvedere, and Waterfall.
 
But the guy drawing his own hand I was talking about onto a sheet of paper was actually done by my dad. It’s possible he was imitating an existing piece of art, though.

My dad has a picture of an artist drawing himself in the reflection of a sphere.
 
He also has a drawing of his own wherein he’s drawing his hand. As in, one of his hands is purely a drawing being done by his other hand.
