According to the DA source, it’s actually a very recent pic. The artist always draws Luna with her S1 mane/tail-style for some reason.
 
A li’l trivia: Originally Luna was going to have her original mane/tail in “Luna Eclipsed.” A few animation errors even show it visible beneath her new hair. Most noticable when she says, HUZZAH!
