Some things were blantantly inspired by the fandom, like some fanon names like “Lyra,” “DJ PON-3,” Octavia, ect.  
Debatably even Derpy’s eyes, after fans and show staff noticed the animation error of her in the pilot episode.  
They started purposely “derping” her eyes in post-production of Season 1, starting with “Feeling Pinkie-Keen” after Derpy became a meme. There’s also things like Lyra & BonBon being “best friends,” among other minor things.
 
Recently, even things like Derpy liking muffins, or working as a mail pony have been canonized. Some fans love it, but some fans think there’s starting to be too much fan-service bleeding into the show.
 
Can’t say if wingy Spike was, or wasn’t inspired by the fandom, as that’s up for debate. Especially, sense writers aren’t allowed to read fanfics, nor want to.

And it happened. You know, giving how creative this fandom is, I wouldn’t be surprised if a more or less obscure concept becomes canon later. Bronies and the Simpsons have one thing in common: they can predict events without meaning it.

I’ve never been a fan of winged Spike, but this is a pretty good rendition. They look good on him here.

IIRC the birds in May The Best Pet Win did as well. I’d assume so.

Honestly, this looks pretty solid. The wings look a little small where they connect to his shoulders, but it isn’t a bad design.
