If they are playing one of those Mario games, then shouldn’t they be holding their Wii-motes sidewise like a classic controller then?  
Though, I guess it doesn’t matter if you’re using magic/telekinesis to hold them.

This is the kind of art I wish I could draw. The Equestria Princesses playing Nintendo games together!
 
I would say they’re all playing Super Smash Bros for Wii U but if that were the case, the artist would have them all using Gamecube controllers.  
So I would say they’re all playing New Super Mario Bros U (with Celestia using Boost Mode) or Super Mario 3D World.

Pleasingly plump
Y’know, you always see pics of the ponies playing old game systems, PS4s, X-Box One controllers, 3DS, or PSP systems, but very rarely I see them play a WiiU. (I’ve even seen them playing the Wii instead usually.)  
So it’s nice to see some WiiU love.  
(Also, nice touch having Celestia being the one who gets the “Game Pad.”)
 
Also, kinda cute to see princess being casual. Very well drawn to.

It is said that the great Civil War and division of Equestria’s Alicorn governing body began with a game of Mario Party, Luna would often be heard charging in to battle with ‘You stole my Stars!’
