The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

there was an old DOS game I used to love called “The Summoning” in it was a spell called “liquify”  
that would turn a gem into a potion that you could drink. diamonds were the “cure all” while other gems cured specific maladies.

It’s not the stone that cures the cold, it’s what’s found inside the rock naturally that cures it.
 
In reality, what cures a cold is your white blood cells. What helps me greatly is staying in a cool room next to a humidifier. Stay active to have your blood flow faster, aiding in the dispersal of your white blood cells. I’m not sure what molten rock would do for a cold, but I’m quite sure that it would keep a room warm.

In the same way that they cure everything, by killing you via molten gem. I think maybe it meant crushed into a powder and dissolved in a liquid, perhaps.
