I don’t see the Changeling species as “evil”. It’s just that Chrysalis’ group of Changelings followed their obviously evil queen.
 
Then again, was Chrysalis really evil? Or did she just make the wrong choice because of how desperate she was to feed her subjects?

It’s up to fan interpretation how their biology and society works. In this comic, I have changelings reproduce like mammals do (Mama Changelings and Papa Changelings), albeit laying their children in clutches of eggs.

Really? Rest assured, friend, changelings are my favorite species in the MLP universe; they have intriguing abilities and are chock full of potential. I consider them the pony equivalent to the Fire Nation or the Klingons.
 
But with that said, I can easily imagine their society not exactly being as joyful and harmonious as the ponies, and given they are the Villain Species in this universe, as much as I like them and Chrysalis, I can’t say I’d particularly be the first to want to live under Chrysalis’ rule.
