Rarity: Hmm…might have to replace Gadget’s parts with Cyberdine…that way, I can take out those meddlesome twins, who are my REAL enemies!!!

Totally with ya, man. I had never seen the toy/video game version of Dr. Claw until just a couple of days ago when I was looking up reference images to use for this piece. Holy cow, that is not how I ever pictured him as a kid.

Yeah, I assume “Gadget Boy & Heather” was like role-reversal AU thing. I didn’t like that show as much as the original “Inspector Gadget” as a kid though.

Yeah, I guess it is a li’l confusing. Even the game one was kinda hard to tell how he looked. The action figure looked like half his face was deformed, which I kinda liked though, and I liked his goatee. His jacket looked cool to, though, I guess they could’ve made him more threatening/scary. Alot of fans don’t wish to accept that as canon, and still make their own versions of him.

Also there was the spin-off “Gadget Boy & Heather”, it’s connected to Inspector Gadget in some way but heck if anyone really knows.

Like I said, I don’t even know if that one counts as canon.  
And I old found the toy/video game look to be a little… lame?  
Ya I’ll go with lame, it really didn’t bug me.

Eh, it’s in silhouette still, but I had nothing against the toy/video game look either. (He’s probably middle-aged, no quite an “old man.” He’s still tough though, I recall one episode of the original series he broke a barbell in half.)
 
Also, wasn’t “Gadget & Gadgetinis” a different show? Even his gauntlets looked different.

There was Gadget and the Gadgetinis when his head was seen but shadowed, and there was the toy but that’s not his canon face.

At least we know her face already. I remember Inspector Gadget as being the first TV show I followed back in 1987. Can you imagine the dissapontment when several years ago I saw the canonical face of Dr. Claw? I imagined a mecha-like face and I found… And old, crosseyed, old man. :(
