Heck, the best one I have been recommended involves having racial caste system in Equestria which adds drama since it means the two have to hide their developing relationship because ponies of different races are not allowed to get together… the problem with this premise being it leaves me feeling uncomfortable and doubtful I would like it.
I think the argument about Flash and Twilight not having much in common is pretty unexplored
Oh, yeah, sure– this is totally the first time I’ve ever heard of it.
But that is basic military logic.
@Lurks-no-More
Transferred? buhahahahah
They want us to think in this way
And as for having other things in common? That’s not all there is. My own parents don’t have that much in common overtly, and they’ve been married over 30 years now. In fact, they have a similar gap in intelligence (though gender reversed).
So far they have a crush. Whether that has a chance to develop into more is up to the writers, but don’t try to discredit it just because they don’t automatically have the same exact likes and dislikes.
Removed the drama tag. But Drama in the comments will stay. But at least it wont be hidden from default filters.
I don’t even like Flashlight shipping, and I think this is a terrific drawing. If I had an account here, I’d upvote and fave it.
But now it’s labeled “drama” and hidden from several of the default filters of the site, and probably from most of the custom ones. C’est la guerre.
Well sure, that’s how it’s supposed to look.
No sir, completely routine, by-the-books.
I wonder if there’s an ulterior motive for that transfer xD
Not to mention crystal pegasi and unicorns seem to be vanishingly rare, so transferring a few units from Canterlot to the Crystal Empire would increase their army’s tactical flexibility significantly.
Also, I will take this opportunity to repost this:
I didn’t forget it was a cartoon, I just didn’t want to argue what a cartoon would do, because frankly they can do just about anything.
I know you already explained, I just don’t think they’re a good match based on those facts alone. A good starting point, sure, but a good match…that just can’t be concluded.
Yeah that sentence was pretty crap, it was late though xD
Sorry for a little over the top debate though. I wanted to be as neutral as I could about the situation despite holding a bias towards not shipping Twi. (we probably all have a bias one way or the other, I was just really trying not to let that be an influence on my reasoning, though I’m not sure how well that worked) I just feel that the traits we know are too general to conclude a good match, as those traits are shared by many. To conclude she’s compatible with most ponies is statistically downright wrong.
Think rationally, we all know that Flash isn’t a crystal pony, but neither is Shining Armor or Princess Cadence. Have you ever heard of soldiers being transferred to different units and companies? When I was in cadets, I had to transfer to different platoons and companies every year.
Yeah, I thought Flash was transferred to the Crystal Empire as well, just to help military defences.
Why he is in Crystal Empire? He isn’t a Crystal Pony, he’s a regular pegaz. Do you guys even think about it?
Headcanonically, he’s part of a small contingent of Royal Guards, brought along by Shining Armor to help him bring the Crystal Guard into this millennium. He doesn’t have the usual blue-and-white look because that’s reserved for Celestia’s guards, and Cadence hasn’t established a uniform enchantment for her own troops.
(After all, they’re an apparently all-Crystal pony force that’s spent a thousand years in limbo. They might have a lot of practical experience in war-fighting, but they are still missing centuries’ worth of developments in military science and integrated warfare.)
I Headcanoned him as Cadences honor guard ever since his train cameo.
I didn’t say “perfect”, but I do say they are a “good” match as far as we’re concerned, and I’ve already explained why. In reply you tell me you’re not talking about what makes sense in a children’s cartoon, but what would be ideal in an actual “realistic” romance; aside from being one of the most debated topics in history, this reveals that you’re apparently forgetting that we are in fact talking about a cartoon here.
Also, this…
